Crested Butte , CO

August 18 - August 22, 2003

Every year, Martin Fowler and Bruce Eckel hold the Enterprise Architecture Summit. "Summit" is to be taken somewhat literally as the meeting is in Crested Butte, Colorado and includes an ascend of the Crested Butte itself at 12,162 ft.

Oh, beautiful Rocky Mountains. Wait -- these are the "leftovers" of the Summit Mine operation, located right at the Fremont Pass of highway ?? (at 11,318 ft). The mine operates a local radio station hailing their environmental efforts... The weather was less inviting cruising down the winding highway to Leadville. Don't try this at home...

Mount Crested Butte as seen from the town of Crested Butte... ...and the reverse.

The proof. On the way back Rod and I crossed the Continental Divide via the Cottonwood Pass. If you take a leak here, you will spread the wealth between Atlantic and Pacific...

Despite all the outdoor activities some people (Richard, at least) could not resist closing another deal.
