Gentlemen, start your engines! The Richard Petty Racing School offers driving a real NASCAR Winston Cup race car. The cars boast 600+ horsepower. The single piece fiberglass body has no doors. Entry is through the window. Helmet and flame retardant suit are mandatory. The course is a one-mile triangle course. Ready, set, go! The cars feature 4 speed manual transmission. No torque below 2000 rpm, but plenty above!

Real pit action as students get on and off the track. Students follow the instructor at 3 car lengths -- pretty close at 130+ mph. Even a race car needs a push every now and then. The interior is complete with fire extinguisher and racing gauges. The steering wheel comes off to allow entry and exit.

The cars are custom built on a tubular frame and a fiberglass body. Custom built 358 c.i. engines produce 600+ HP at at 12:1 compression. The real race cars run up to 14:1 for over 700 HP. At last! After 30 laps I earned my graduation certificate. Top speed 131.91 mph, best lap 39.17 sec.
